The features of optics technology brought to you by the Borescopes consist of objective lens, illumination LED, camera, fiber optic cables and tip mounted CMOS chip. The optional Penta prism is made available in certain specific models of the Borescopes for high end industrial applications. Enhancing the light transmission characteristics of the components is the main goal of the device design. All the individual components are shaped to prevent wasteful reflection of light since it enters into the objective lens from the target object. The aim is to magnify the image to such an extent from where you can view them without having to strain your eyes at all.

Borescope Diameter Values

The standard diameter of the micro Borescopes vary from 0.5mm 3.2mm. The field of view varies from 20-degrees to 80-degrees depending on the model and configuration. The line of sight varies from 0-degrees (horizontal) to 90-degrees (side view). The diameter values of macro Borescopes vary from 4mm to 10mm and beyond. Their field of view varies from 0-degrees to 90-degrees. When they are supported by the knob mounted articulation capacity, they can cover 360-degrees view with left and right articulation of 120-degrees in every direction.

Borescopes Applications of Optics

  • Micro Borescopes: – The application areas of the micro Borescopes are limited to small pipes and structures. Most commonly you can use them in automotive industries, laboratories, residential cabling and gas pipelines etc. The quality of gradient lenses used in such devices form high resolution images within the small areas of focus. Most of them use a combination of lenses and camera / eyepiece for recording and viewing purposes. The refractive index of the objective lens is designed to support high degree of magnifications within the limited field of view. Since the fiber optic cables are densely packed into the micro channels of the Borescopes they produce some of the most incredibly clear images and video footages for viewing.
  • Rigid Borescopes: – Rigid Borescopes are supported by the high quality fiber optic cables that are placed very near to the tip of the CMOS chip. The close proximity of the objective lens and the LED makes it highly efficient assembly. The design is perfectly created for the elimination of chromatic aberrations, parallax and other kinds of disturbances. Since the tip of the Probe wraps around the fiber optic cables perfectly, the chances of light rays escaping into the external areas is practically eliminated. One of the major applications of the rigid type of Borescopes is in the hydraulic and HVAC machines. You will be able to get a crystal clear image of the complete internal structure with layers of hydraulic pumps, pressure distribution channels and other mechanical parts.

Borescopes Defect Detection

The standard designs of the Borescopes enable them to clearly point out the defective parts and components. They can be used in smaller and larger pipes and machinery to give crystal clear images. Real time defect analysis and corrective measures can be taken during the runtime of the Borescopes.
